Todd Mahaffey has been teaching band for more than 20 years, with most of that time teaching in the Bellevue School District. In addition to teaching at Newport, he has also worked at various times at Chinook Middle School, Bellevue High School, Clyde Hill Elementary, Medina Elementary, and Puesta del Sol Elementary. In addition to teaching band, Mr. Mahaffey is a professional trumpet player in the area, currently performing with the Seattle Wind Symphony and Lake Union Civic Orchestra. He is an active clinician and conductor in the region including being the conductor of the Cascade Youth Symphony’s Junior Symphony.
